The Showdown

"Finally, the moment you have all been waiting for, Josh Hamilton, vs Robert Wight"

We were in an arena, about 100 yards in length, with a couple of doorways in the middle as obstacles.  The point of this game was to take three pucks from your side of the field, and get them to the enemies side before they did.  The rules were simple:
1.  You can only have up to 2 pucks at any one time
2. Any pucks stolen directly from the opponent can be used as your own.

We started, and both ran across, both scoring two points.  Time was nearly up, and I knew I only had one option.  Josh was faster than me, and there was no way I could get to his goal before he got to mine.  We were both at our home bases, and I ran towards Josh, with nothing in my hands.  He wasn't paying attention to me, and as I passed him, I took his puck.  He stood there, nonplussed, as I walked towards his goal, and won.  He was still in a stunned silence as the announcer proclaimed my victory.

Witch Hunter

I was a part of another world.  This was a world full of horror and wonder, magic an mystery.  I was a hunter of sorts, hunting down those with magical abilities that were using them for evil.  You might even say I was a witch hunter, though most of the witches were male in this case.  There was one that was always invisible, and I could never quite catch him, no matter what I tried.  His one weakness was that he was always getting in fights with other magical creatures.
As our story begins, I was spending a relaxing evening with some of my friends, relaxing on their dock after dinner.  They had three dogs, rather unruly, but a lovely bunch.  They all seemed to want to get into the river, but my friends son was keeping them in check.  One of them finally got away, and made a break for the river.  He fell in with a splash, and soon after, the son jumped in to save him.  He caught up with the hound, and started back to the dock with him.  As he was coming back, I noticed one of my old army friends in the water as well.  He came to shore when he recognized me, and my friends rushed to get him a towel to help him dry off.  He was in normal clothes, and I asked him what had happened.  He didn't say much, and it seemed to me like it was just enough to quell our questions, but not give us any of the actual truth.  We helped him dry off, and then he was gone.
In our base, Josh Hamilton and I were watching some footage of the Pariser Dom in Berlin, and some scaffolding that was on it.  My army friend was on it, sneaking away from some others who were chasing him.  We watched him successfully escape by leaping from building to building, and jumping into the Spree river.  It became clear that it must have been very soon after this that I saw him, and pulled him from the river.  I told Josh my theory.
"The Kanzler's son is a warlock.  That is the only reasonable explanation."
Josh was, however, not convinced.
Later, I had a dream about our base.  There were two evil warlocks torturing another.  I could hear his screams, and them saying he was stronger, and could hide better, because he was one of the Ancients.  He had the ability to hide his power from others.  When I could finally see the Ancient, I could see he had very little hope for life.  He was missing the lower half of his body, though it seemed as if he was made of stone by the way the break looked, and there was very little blood.  His screaming had subsided by now, and they were bending over him.  The invisible warlock I had been hunting for a long time was there as well, and said he was going out.
I knew where he was going, so when I awoke, I headed out to the forest.  My dream did not lead me astray, and when I neared this forest, I heard the sounds of a brawl.  The invisible one was fighting an oversized wolf.  I threw one of my flame nets at the warlock, and I was rewarded by a scream of surprise.
"How did you know I would be here?"
"It wasn't hard I just followed the sounds of fighting, like always."
Finally, my long hunt was over, but now I had even bigger problems.  If the son of the chancellor was really a warlock, there was much left to do.  This was going to be a long night indeed.
