End of Ze World

We were running, as always, through a dark, grassy field.  It was dark, mainly because it was night, though it should have been day 5 hours ago.  We kept running till we got to the ship.  We got their just in time.  The sun was just beginning to come over the horizon, far too fast.  As we rose, we saw the singularity begin to devour the earth. It first stripped off the vegetation that was near it, steadily digging deeper into the earth.  As we began to rise, free from the gravity of the black hole in our ship, the sun neared the vortex.  It was strange, seeing the sun from so close, and not burning up.  It slowly gave in to the black hole's gravity well, like a ball of golden liquid pouring into a giant mouth.  It flared up one last time, and then was gone.  My attention was then drawn back to the diminishing earth.  It was down to bare rock on this side, atleast, and nearing the core.  As the rock turned into glowing red rock, I saw black spots coming into my vision.  In our attempts to leave the immense gravity of the singularity, our gravity engines were beginning to fail.  We were just getting away, when all faded to darkness.
